Client Overview

Jordache Enterprises, Inc. is an American clothing company that markets apparel, including shirts, jeans, and outerwear. The brand is most well-known for its designer jeans that were popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

The Challenge

One of the critical challenges in Jordache's supply chain is efficient packaging and carton size optimization, particularly when shipping apparel in bulk. Currently, determining the most space-efficient carton sizes for different product combinations requires manual calculations, leading to suboptimal packing configurations, excess material usage, and higher shipping costs. Without an automated system, cartons may not fully utilize the available container space, particularly within the 7.5-foot width constraint, resulting in wasted capacity and increased logistical inefficiencies.

The Result

SheetsHappen developed an integrated system to optimize carton packing for Jordache. The result is a user-friendly, automated Excel tool with advanced VBA-driven calculations and 2D visualization, allowing seamless carton size optimization. Key features include dynamic input for various item dimensions, automated carton sizing, and efficient space utilization within a 7.5-foot container width constraint.

This solution eliminates manual calculations, minimizes shipping costs, and streamlines logistics—making the new system a “one-stop solution” for optimized packaging and shipping.

The Client Said…

“We used to spend so much time manually figuring out how to fit different items into cartons while maximizing container space. Now, the system does almost all the work for us, providing instant calculations and even a 2D visualization of the packing layout."

“Milan was professional, efficient, and created a tool that met our needs perfectly. He exceeded the original task goals and ended up delivering a much better outcome than what I originally designated to him. What I appreciated the most is his desire to do things right!”

- Shaul Cohen, Executive Vice President at Jordache
